Our awesome tribe has spoken!
I’m a big fan of Ozia Original’s Kava Candy, so very excited to try this new product from the same company. I’ve used the oil twice a day for three days in total. With one minor blip in between when I sampled a specific oil from another company which made me feel kinda bad! When those effects wore off, I gave EleVate another try and it really did help alleviate some of the anxiety from this “other product”. Thank goodness this product does not contain THC!
I’ve tried oils from other companies and not really had any success so I wasn’t entirely hopeful that this product would be any different. BUT it is. I think the sciatic pain from piriformis syndrome is a little less than it was yesterday and its been constantly the same level of ache for 3-4 weeks. I consider that a definite improvement. Still hoping it will help with fascia pain in my neck and shoulders but I think that will take several more days.
The taste is surprisingly good. You still get that syrupy tarry feel right at the beginning but almost immediately the peppermint takes over and I can hold the oil under my tongue for quite some time before swallowing. I do feel a little dizziness about 10 minutes in, but that soon dissipates and it has lessened each time I’ve taken the oil. Because I’m so sensitive to anything I put in my body I have actually halved the dose – half a dropper rather than one dropper, but eventually I’ll give the full dropperful a try. I like the fact that this product is sourced from virtually THC-free carefully grown in the US. Oh, and I’m not taking any kava or kava candies while I try EleVate – want to give a fair and unadultered opinion! I’ll update this review in a few more days when I get a better idea of the effects. Those four stars might well go up to five!
Update: so I’ve been taking this – somewhat inconsistently for about 10 days I think. It still makes me a little dizzy for a few minutes after taking it but that fades. Anxiety wise it SEEMS to be helping – I feel less edgy during the day. Although it certainly hasn’t disappeared and I don’t expect it too either. BUT my chronic piriformis pain seems to have dissipated quite a bit. It’s still there but the pressure on the sciatic nerve seems to have gone! Could just be a coincidence but I’m 90% sure it’s not! If the pain reappears when this bottle is done, then I’m likely to be ordering another!
First off I want to say that I was skeptical about these types of natural treatments for anxiety/depression at first, as there are a lot of hemp oils which don’t have any therapeutic value at all.
That being said, this stuff is the real deal. These guys put out a quality product, made with a mix of herbs and oils which have substantial scientific evidence to support its effectiveness in treating pain, depression, anxiety, and insomnia. I’m actually impressed with how well it helps me with my issues.
If you have depression/anxiety and feel like you’re running out of treatment options, give this a shot! I’d bet it will be a common prescription in a matter of years anyway, once the strict regulations on hemp/cannabis are lifted.
Hemp Oil is a fascinating compound. It does not activate the CB1 and CB2 receptor as most other cannabinoids. In fact, it acts as an antagonist (blocker) of the CB1 receptor. However, this is not likely part of the therapeutic benefit. The benefits likely come from the fact that it is a 5-HT1A receptor agonist. This means it works in a similar manner to buspirone, a non-benzodiazapene anxiolytic.
Indeed, prior to even knowing this fact, when I have tried hemp oil extract in the past I felt a good reduction in anxiety. It also seems to be a weak positive modulator of endogenous opioid receptors. Try this stuff before your workout, and right after. Your endorphins will be working stronger! However, this does not cause any intoxicated state like an actual opioid receptor agonist. Hemp oil has no recreational potential, but can do wonders for post-workout muscle cramps and stress. As far as its potential to help epilepsy, I believe I read that hemp also blocks a certain type of calcium channel, which would explain the anti-epileptic benefits. Yet, it does not seem to interfere with general cognitive function.
In fact, you might find yourself more on top of things because you can handle stress better! Having tried other brands of Hemp Oil before, I had to give Ozia’s a try when it came out. I’m a big fan of the kava candies. And nope, I’m not being paid to write this review (I wish!)
Looking for an easy-to-carry, unsuspicious, and relatively strong Kava extract? Looking for something that tastes good, doesn’t require any cumbersome kind of storage, and can be accessed at any given moment? Most importantly, are you looking for something that works fast and is easily accessible during those moments when you really need to calm down and feel relaxed? Look no further. KavaKava Candy exactly fits that description. If you are traveling and are worried about how to explain mouth-numbing powders or big bags of “strange” ground Pacific roots or even a jar of Kava extract, then these candies are the ideal alternative.
The taste is delicious. It reminds me… full review at Kavasseur: #1 Resource for kava reviews
